Description
Trauma comes in many forms. This session will address social-emotional development as it is related to trauma such as the various types of stress and trauma children experienced in the recent pandemic. A discussion of other factors that support social-emotional development will help participants make considerations for their daily practice based on the discussions. Participants will also be given a chance to consider the impact of the pandemic on child welfare on a local and international basis. Strategies to promote healthy social-emotional development will be introduced and participants will gain insight on ways to support children who have been exposed to traumatic events.
